About the design team

Our growing Cetaris design team is looking for a highly motivated Product Designer who is excited to get to work solving complex problems for users! Under the guidance of our Lead Product Designer, you will play a role in designing user-focused solutions for our mobile application suite. You will be responsible for making the product vision a reality using a variety of user-centric design methods.

This is an opportunity to develop your skills and learn hands-on with real projects. In this role, you’ll get to collaborate closely with a cross-functional product team, identifying, and executing on opportunities to improve our user experience across the Cetaris mobile applications suite.

As Product Designer you will

  • Advocate for good user experience above all else
  • Work with the design team to define and refine the user experience of the Cetaris mobile suite of applications
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, engineers, and other designers, to define and prioritize design goals. systems component library and help implement it across the Cetaris ecosystem
  • Create wireframes, user flows, and high-fidelity mockups for new features and product improvements
  • Work on the end-to-end design process, from ideation and concept development to final execution
  • Iterate on designs based on feedback and data analysis to improve user experience continually
  • Conduct user research and usability testing to gather insights and validate design decisions
  • Communicate and present your designs to non-designers like customers, coworkers, and stakeholders so they understand the reason behind the design decisions you make.

Requirements and skills

  • A graduate degree or certificate from a program in user experience design, human-computer interaction, web design, web development, or related field
  • 2 to 5 years of UX and/or UI design experience working with digital products
  • A portfolio that displays experience in UX/UI best practices and modern trends in UI design
  • Proficiency in design tools such as Sketch, Figma, and prototyping software
  • Experience designing for mobile, tablet experiences, desktop, and responsive web-based apps
  • Experience with usability testing and user research methodologies
  • Familiarity with coding and development processes, or at least an understanding of technical constraints and opportunities

  • You have excellent communication skills and an ability to convey and debate design decisions
  • You are passionate about empathizing with customers/user needs, motivations, and behaviours, and can translate that empathy into your work
  • You have a hunger to learn, and you ask a lot of questions
  • You realize there is never one right answer and always search out new solutions to complex problems
  • Stay up-to-date with design trends, emerging technologies, and industry best practices
  • You can quickly adapt and have a willingness to learn and grow in a fast-paced and evolving environment

Bonus points

  • You have a passion project on the side
  • You are active in the design community
  • You have experience working on a design system or with a design system
  • You have experience working at an enterprise software or software product company (Software as a service product)
  • You have experience working on maintenance software or similar industries

Hours and location

Our team continues to work 100% remotely with occasional in person meet-ups. Future plans around location are still open. Our primary goal is to keep our team and their families safe and well. Flexible work hours.

Compensation

This is a permanent full-time position (40 hours/week), with an annual salary (based on experience) plus bonus. Shared medical, dental, wellness, and insurance benefits.
