About the design team

We are seeking a highly skilled and creative Senior Product Designer to join our team. As a Senior Product Designer, you will play a crucial role in shaping the user experience and interface of our complex products, contributing to our mission of delivering innovative solutions to our customers. Under the guidance of our Lead Product Designer, you will play a role in designing user-focused solutions for our enterprise software.

As a Senior Product Designer you will

  • Advocate for good user experience above all else
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and prioritize design goals, including product managers, engineers, and other designers
  • Contribute and collaborate on the Cetaris design system component library and help implement it across the Cetaris ecosystem
  • Create wireframes, user flows, and high-fidelity mockups for new features and product improvements
  • Work on the end-to-end design process, from ideation and concept development to final execution
  • Iterate designs based on feedback and data analysis to improve user experience continually
  • Conduct user research studies including surveys, customer interviews, and usability testing to gather insights and validate design decisions early and often
  • Create user-centered designs by understanding user needs through research
  • Communicate and present your designs to non-designers like customers, coworkers, and stakeholders so they understand the reason behind the design decisions you make and be open to feedback
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior designers, fostering a culture of design excellence within the team

Requirements and skills

  • A bachelor's degree or certificate from a program in user experience design, human-computer interaction, product design, or a related field
  • Proven experience (5+ years) working as a product designer, with a strong portfolio showcasing your design process and projects
  • Proficiency in design tools such as Figma
  • Experience designing for mobile, tablet experiences, desktop, and responsive web-based apps
  • Experience conducting user research, including usability testing, surveys, and interviews
  • Strong understanding of design principles, interaction design, and information architecture
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Familiarity with coding and development processes, or at least an understanding of technical constraints and opportunities

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present and justify design decisions to cross-functional teams
  • You are passionate about empathizing with customers/user needs, motivations, and behaviours, and can translate that empathy into your work
  • You enjoy collaborating with cross-functional teams and are comfortable giving and receiving constructive feedback
  • You realize there is never one right answer and always search out new solutions to complex problems
  • Stay up-to-date with design trends, emerging technologies, and industry best practices
  • You are self-motivated and proactive, with a drive to continually improve and innovate

Bonus points

  • You are active in the design community
  • You have experience working on a design system or with a design system
  • You have experience working at an enterprise software or software product company (Software as a service product)
  • You have experience working on maintenance software or similar industries

Hours and location

Our team continues to work 100% remotely with occasional in person meet-ups in the Greater Toronto Area. Future plans around location are still open. Our primary goal is to keep our team and their families safe and well. Flexible work hours.

Compensation

This is a permanent full-time position (40 hours/week), with an annual salary (based on experience) plus bonus. Shared medical, dental, wellness, and insurance benefits.
